Oracle Fusion Analytics Significantly Improves Data & Analytics Processes for Leading Media Production Company

This world-class media production and distribution company is a leader empowering the media and entertainment industry through transformative technological innovation. It is a global leader in video infrastructure, advertising systems and workflow management solutions serving media networks, broadcast stations, digital media, communication service provider and enterprise markets. Together with Apps Associates implemented and deployed Oracle Fusion ERP & SCM Analytics and integrated Oracle EPM with Fusion Analytics over the course of six months.

Overview of Engagement

The customer was finding that delivering automated KPI’s, metrics and reports was difficult and time consuming. The processes used to collect data and generate reports were based on inefficient and outdated manual processes, and their data was also stored in multiple different sources. They sought a solution that would consolidate data and set up integrated processes that would save time, and give them a foundation on which to build and grow as an organization.

Customer Challenges

Prior to their partnership with Apps Associates, the organization was reliant on large flat file extracts. Their goal over the course of the implementation was to migrate towards integrated dashboards with a KPI-driven design, which would allow them to unite data sources and provide real-time feedback about how the organization was performing against its business and financial goals.

This modern platform for data & analytics would provide them with a robust, sustainable, end-to-end solution, housing all reporting and data dashboards in one space. Oracle Fusion Analytics was the chosen solution, integrated over time with Oracle EPM, ERP and SCM Analytics, to allow for full visibility into all financial and supply chain data. Oracle Fusion Analytics houses all of the tools this company needed to integrate its financial planning and reporting, allowing federated access to “approved” datasets; provide detailed answers to all core questions from users; and the ability to customize and modify their data sources, reports and KPIs to align with key business initiatives. The platform also supports ongoing upgrades and patching as needed.

Customer Objectives

By implementing this solution, the company eliminated the need to manually maintain and monitor the data extraction processes from Oracle Cloud Applications. It automated the reporting of integrated operating expenses and income statements through Oracle EPM, and saved on the maintenance costs previously needed to manually monitor the Analytics environment. Altogether, the organization saved more than $300K in cloud application licensing costs by moving all of its query-only users to Oracle Fusion Analytics.


In just six months, Apps Associates was able to help this company completely transform their reporting processes with an automated, self-sustaining end-to-end platform. Oracle Fusion Analytics now acts as a single source of truth for all of their data requests, and query-only functions against Oracle Cloud Applications have been completely eliminated.
